53351The Barber family have been making cheddar since 1833, which makes them the oldest surviving cheddar makers in the World!
The cheese is crafted in Ditcheat, Somerset, only 13 miles from the village of Cheddar itself and protected under the PDO certification. The Barber family are also farmers, producing milk for the dairy.
This vintage reserved cheddar is made using traditional starter cultures and the finest milk. Aged for at least 24 months, only the outstanding ones would labelled as 1833. This is a cheese with unrivalled complexity and depth. With a creamy texture contains naturally- occurring crystals that give it a distinctive crunch.
Savour it as part of a cheeseboard and it makes beautiful pairings with cider.
